Photos don't survive relationship or marital disputes very well. Often they need to be copied and put back together. Kids get hold of photos and don't treat them as well they should.
Once a photo is torn, the damaged surface edge will peal off after time, leaving blank areas which can only be replaced with an image, if no vital facial features are missing. If wire gets bend back and forwards it will break like a photo if it is folded over and over.
Wallets and purses can hold a photos collection.
It is not advisable to use the original. A copy can always be replaced because wallets are hard on photos, damaged by getting wet or sand grinds away the surface.
Commonly many Soldiers kept their loved ones on photos folded to fit into their pockets.
